Description
What makes this guitar special: A very early issue of one of the most popular and bestselling guitars ever produced by Fender, this American Standard plays like an absolute dream. It sports a D-neck that increases slightly in thickness as you trend toward the upper register, which is super comfortable and makes maneuverability feel nearly effortless. This piece is in remarkably clean condition for a 30-year old guitar, and the teal blue metallic finish looks absolutely terrific, too. Professionally setup by the experts at Cream City Music, this beauty will arrive ready to play right out of the case.
Cosmetic condition: Great shape for its age, with some standard signs of playwear throughout. There are various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, and scuffs throughout, along with some discoloration along the fingerboard edges and some light fretwear. The body shows visible finish checking throughout, and there is some minor tarnishing on the hardware.
Body: Contoured double cutaway solid alder body in teal blue metallic finish with 3-ply white pickguard and string-through two-point tremolo bridge with individually adjustable saddles.
Weight: 7 lb, 12.8 oz
Neck: D-shaped solid maple neck with black side dots and black dot inlays. Maple fingerboard is in good shape overall with some expected discoloration along the edges, and frets are in good shape too with a lot of life left in them. Chrome sealed Fender tuners work great. 1 11/16” nut width, 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight and truss rod works great. The neck appears to date to ’88 (see photo).
Electronics: Triple single coils (Bridge-6.08k ohms, Middle-5.91k ohms, Neck-6.11k ohms) with 5-way pickup selector switch, TBX tone control, and white skirted knobs, 2x tone, 1x volume. Pots date to ’87 and all electronics are fully functional.
Case: Original hard shell case included.
