Description
What makes this guitar special: A really nice recreation of a '54 Esquire in classic Butterscotch finish. This beauty was made in Japan back in '86 & sports all the cool features we love about the Esquire - single bridge pickup, single-ply blackguard & vintage-style neck profile. Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action so she's ready to go straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: There are quite a few large chips throughout the body finish; various minor nicks & dings; surface scratches & some mild finish wear.
Neck: Nicely rounded maple neck (feels a lot like a B-shape profile) with skunk stripe & black dot inlays. Frets show a tiny bit of wear & have plenty of life in them. Vintage-style tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in good working condition.
Body: Solid ash body in butterscotch finish. String-thru bridge with three adjustable saddles. Vintage-style, single-ply blackguard with 5 screw holes. However, there are additional screw holes in the body under the guard from a previous more modern style pickguard that was probably on the guitar at one time. The body is factory routed for a neck pickup & wire channel. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 13.7 oz.
Pickup: Single-coil bridge pickup - 6.06K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with knurled dome knobs; 3-way toggle switch. Position 1 is the tone turned all the way up; position 2 allows the player to adjust the tone & position 3 is the tone turned all the down. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Tweed hardshell case included.
