Description
What makes this guitar special: Famously played by Paul McCartney during the tail end of his time with Wings, the BB1200 was Yamaha’s top-of-the-line production bass. It represents the utmost in quality offered by the Japanese manufacturer at the time, featuring a familiar split coil pickup configuration with a neck-through body design for enhanced resonance, and an ebony fingerboard for smooth playability. Professionally inspected and setup by our expert in-house luthier, and ready to play out of the case!
Cosmetic condition: Great shape! This one shows some light wear and tear throughout, typical for its nearly 40 years of existence. There are various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, scuffs, and chips present, with a handful of small areas of finish wear throughout. There is some chipping in the finish around the area of truss rod access, and the string nut has been shimmed.
Body: Neck-through body with maple wings. Harp engraved top-loading bridge with individually adjustable saddles. Black pickup surrounds.
Weight: 10 lb, 3.2 oz
Neck: 5-piece maple & mahogany neck with neck-through design. Pearl side dots and pearl oval inlays. Ebony fingerboard is in terrific shape and frets show light wear but have a lot of life left in them. 1 3/4" nut width, 34” scale length. Open gear tuners work great. Neck is straight and truss rod is working.
Electronics: Precision Bass style split single-coil pickup with black speed knobs and pointed indicators, 1x tone, 1x volume. All electronics have been tested and are fully functional.
Case: Unoriginal hard shell case included.
