Description
What makes this guitar special: Known as the “John Lennon” model, this beautiful sounding 1651 Legend is in great shape for its age. The solid spruce top and lyrachord bowl back combination produce a pleasant tonal range that represents all of the frequencies in the spectrum. It has a very nice low end response, with a strong mid-range presence and crisp clear high end. Thanks to the professional set up from our in-house tech, the guitar plays like a dream & comes with its original paperwork/owner's manual.
Cosmetic Condition: Great shape overall. It does display some light surface scratches, a few minor dings, dents, and a very small finish crack behind the bridge, but for the most part is very clean. The strap button was relocated from the bass side of the neck heel to the treble side, leaving a small screw hole in the bowl back. The frets display some light wear in the first position, but still have plenty of life in them. The neck is comfortable, plays great up & down the fretboard, and the truss rod works perfectly.
Body: Lyrachord bowl body with a solid spruce top in nutmeg finish. Multi-ply top binding. Large single ring “Leaf” rosette. Rosewood string-through bridge with compensated saddle.
Neck: Soft V shape 5-ply maple and mahogany neck (.85” at the 1st fret, 1” at the 12th fret). Bound ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl diamond/dot inlays and black side dots. Gold sealed gear tuning machines in perfect working condition. 1 11/16” nut width. 25 ¼” scale length.
Electronics: Under-saddle piezo pickup. Single concentric volume and tone control. Mono and Stereo output jacks. A TRS cable is required for the stereo jack.
Weight: 5 lbs. 8.6 oz.
Playability/Sound: The soft V neck is very comfortable and easy to move around. The tone has a very good low end response, strong midrange presence, and a crisp, clear high end.
Case: Includes original hard shell case and original paperwork.
