What makes this guitar special: A one-owner bass in completely original condition, with a fantastic vibe, and a gorgeous patina. This one is unperturbed, with original intact solder joints, and a crystal clear neck date. Recently acquired from the original owner, who lovingly played it for many years. It showcases some good honest wear, and is definitely used but not abused, with tons of life ahead of it. Professionally inspected and setup by our expert in-house luthier, this beauty will arrive ready to play.
Cosmetic condition: Just the way we like ‘em, with some good honest wear and a great vibe. There are various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, chips, and scuffs present, with some notable wear around the edges. The finish has worn away on the upper bout where the arm rests, and there is some notable buckle rash on the back. The fingerboard showcases a few areas of light wear, along with some fretwear consistent with age. Overall, this one has a terrific look to it, with a beautiful patina.
Body: Double cutaway solid ash body in natural finish. Oval shaped 3-ply black pickguard. Die-Cast Patent Pending Music Man string-through bridge with individually adjustable saddles and individual string mutes. The string-mute pads are original and have dried out with time.
Weight: 9 lb, 11.9 oz
Neck: Nicely rounded D-shaped one piece maple neck with walnut skunk stripe, black side dots, and black dot inlays. 1 3/4" nut width, 34” scale length. Open gear Music Man tuners work great. Maple fingerboard is in great overall shape, but shows a couple spots of wear. Frets show wear consistent with age, but still have some life in them. Neck is straight and plays great up and down the fretboard. There is some very slight upbow at the top end of the upper register, and the truss rod functions but is pretty tight.
Electronics: Original bridge humbucker with adjustable treble, bass, and volume.
Case: Unoriginal vintage hard shell case included. Case shows some wear and the handle has been replaced. The top liner on the interior is coming undone as well. However, all latches work and it does the job fine.
