Description
Condition: This is a great player’s grade bass with both vintage and newer parts. The neck dates to 1977 and the bridge is vintage. The body, pickguard, pickups, control knobs, strap buttons and a capacitor are newer parts. There are several scratches, large nicks, dings, dents, chips and several gouges throughout the instrument. There is a large gouge between the upper and lower bouts on the back of the treble side (see photos). There are some large chips on the bottom of the bass side and the belly contour. The screw holes for the bridge and pickup covers are visible though the covers are missing. There are also holes in the pickguard for a thumbrest, but the holes do not go into the body. Most notable is a large crack through the tuners on the headstock. This crack is showing no movement and does not affect playability at all. One screw is missing from a tuner but the tuner still functions fine. Fingerboard and frets have moderate play wear with heavier wear around the edges. The neck is very straight with a very slight warp around the 12th fret. The truss rod functions fine. All electronics and parts are in perfect working condition.
Body: Solid contoured parts body in black finish. Original hardtail top-load tailpiece/bridge with four individual saddles, knurled control knobs and a 4-ply tortoise pickguard.
Neck: Original 1977 maple neck with skunk stripe down the back, maple fingerboard, black dot inlays and a 1 5/8” nut. Original open-back Fender tuners, 34” scale length. The truss rod is in good working condition.
Pickups/Electronics: Newer vintage-style split single coil pickups with master volume and tone controls.

Playability/Sound: This bass has an excellent transfer of vibration and sound through the neck and body. The pickups sound excellent and respond beautifully to both the controls and playing dynamics. The neck is very comfortable and suitable for any playing style.
