Description
Condition: This guitar has an authentic vintage look, feel and tone! The bridge pickups and one of the pickup on/off switches are unoriginal (see photos). There are scratches, nicks, dings, dents and chips throughout the body, neck and headstock. There is some heavy weather checking/finish cracking throughout the body. There are some areas with heavier wear in which the finish has worn through to the bare wood on the bottom of the guitar and the lower bass side bout. There is a filled-in screw hole and a large chip on the treble side horn from a previously installed strap button (see photos). There are two very large sticker ghosts over the back of the guitar from two square shaped stickers. This isn’t easily visible on the black finish however. There is a crack in the wood under the tailpiece on the treble side bridge post. This was caused by tension over time but the crack is showing no movement and does not affect playability. Some of the metal parts have some rust, corrosion or blemishing; typical of a guitar this old. The control knobs are unoriginal. The finish was partially buffed but some areas still have a slightly “cloudy” appeareance. Fingerboard and frets have moderate play wear with some heavier play wear on the lower registers. The neck is very straight and the truss rod functions fine. When we received this guitar, several shims had been added to the neck. The guitar currently plays well so we left the shims in. All electronics and parts are in perfect working condition. Overall, this guitar plays and sounds great!
Body: Solid double-cutaway body in black finish. Dynamic Fender Vibrato tailpiece with adjustable six-saddle bridge. Vibrato arm is missing. Chrome control plate with skirted control knobs and a 3-ply black pickguard.
Neck: Slender maple neck with rich rosewood fingerboard, pearloid dot inlays and a 1 5/8” nut. The headstock has developed a gorgeous patina giving this guitar and awesome look. Vintage Fender tuners, 24” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: Original single-coil pickup in the neck and a high-output single coil in the bridge. Master volume and tone controls and on/off/phase switches for each pickup.
Neck: 5.63K Ohms.
Bridge: 8.45K Ohms.
Weight: 7lbs, 11.0oz.
Playability/Sound: This guitar gives the player some nice versatility with the two different pickups. The neck pickup offers a classic sound while the bridge pickup provides more output for a modern sound if desired. The phase switches are very useful, in getting a multitude of sounds out of the instrument. The slender neck is very comfortable and ideal for any playing style.
Case: Includes unoriginal hardshell tweed Gator brand case in good overall condition.
