Description
What makes this guitar special: A well-kept vintage piece with an awesome sound and beautiful projection. The solid mahogany back and sides resonate beautifully and balance nicely with the bright solid spruce top, creating a very even tone that is really outstanding for a guitar at this price point. No kidding-this thing sounds better than many guitars at double its price. It comes professionally setup by our in-house luthier, and will arrive ready to play.
Cosmetic condition: Awesome shape for its age, with all the expected wear, but nothing too gnarly. There are various small surface scratches, dents, dings, nicks, and scuffs, a few areas of notable weather checking, and some pickwear on the front of the guitar as well as the pickguard, which appears to have been reglued at some point. There is a paper thin gap between the top and the bridge, but the bridge is still firmly intact.
Body: Double bound solid mahogany back and sides with solid spruce top in natural finish with multi-ring white rosette, tortoise pickguard, and light rosewood bridge with white bridge pins. 15 3/4” lower bout width, with 5” depth. Upper bout measures 11 1/2" across, with 4 1/4" depth.
Weight: 5lb, 2.1oz
Neck: Nicely rounded mahogany neck with white side dots and pearl dot inlays. Rosewood fingerboard is in terrific shape and showcases plenty of lovely variegation. Frets appear to be original, and still have a great deal of life left in them with only some visible wear in the first position. 1 11/16” nut width, 25 1/2" scale length. Original tuners function as they should. Neck is straight and truss rod works fine.
Case: Original hard shell case included.
