Description
What makes this guitar special: An excellent player's grade Marauder with wonderful tone & action. The stripped finish & neck repair keep the price tag reasonable, but the sound quality & dynamics definitely put it up there with the big boys. Professionally set up & ready for action straight out of the case!
Cosmetic Condition: Various nicks, dents & dings; surface scratches & general play wear. As previously mentioned, the original finish was stripped off the body (it appears to have originally been red) & there are a few superficial cracks in the back of the neck that were professionally glued by our tech. The neck is stable & plays great up & down the fingerboard. There's also a very tiny, hairline crack in the bass-side of the body. Again, superficial like the neck cracks. Overall the guitar has a cool vintage look with a nice patina.
Neck: Slender profile, bolt-on maple neck with cream side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother pearl dot inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Original Gibson Deluxe tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Contoured, solid maple body with large, single-ply cream pickguard. The guard has a small piece that chipped off the bass-side horn, but for the most part is in good condition. Stopbar tailpiece & Schaller-made "Harmonica" Tune-O-Matic style adjustable bridge. Guitar weighs 9 lbs 11.1 oz.
Electronics: Custom-designed Bill Lawrence pickups sealed in clear epoxy. Full-size neck humbucker - 5.43K ohms; Blade style angled bridge humbucker - 2.326K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with black speed knobs; 3-way toggle switch. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Unoriginal Epiphone hardshell case included.
