Description
Description: Vintage 1975 Gibson Blue Ridge Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Factory 2nd
Condition: Very good overall. This is a great sounding guitar with an awesome vintage look and tone. There is a crack on the back near the neck heel but it is not opening up and does not affect sound or playability. Most notably there is a crack in the wood on the back of the neck near the headstock. This crack was not caused by impact but likely a result of the wood drying out and splitting. This is evident by the nature of the split (see photos). The guitar has been stamped as a factory second and this could be the reason why. Cosmetically there are various surface scratches, nicks and dings. Overall the guitar is very clean for its age. Fingerboard and frets have light play wear and tons of life left in them. Neck is very straight and the truss rod functions fine. Saddle is unoriginal and leans forward though there is excellent transfer of vibration through the bridge. All parts are otherwise original and in perfect working condition.
Body: Double-bound dreadnought body with solid spruce top and rosewood back and sides in natural finish. Rosewood bridge with bone saddle, black pickguard and multiple inlaid rings around the sound hole.
Neck: Mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, pearloid dot inlays and a 1 ¾” nut. Gibson Deluxe nickel tuners, 25.5” scale length.
Playability/Sound: This guitar has a beautiful, wide open sound that is very rich and warm. The solid woods and body size produce plenty of volume and resonance and the wood has matured giving the guitar a natural, “lived in” tone. The neck is exceptionally comfortable and suitable for any playing style.
Case: Includes vintage chipboard case.
