Description

What makes this guitar special: You really don't see too many of these, much less an all intact example like this one! Made from only 74-76, these are highly coveted guitars, being of nearly equal build quality as their Fender contemporaries, and going for roughly half the price. This one is a very early example, predating serialization for the line. As such, we're calling it a 74. It sports a beautiful naturally finished ash body and rounded solid maple neck, with stunning resonance enhancing the sounds of the infamous Flying Fingers Super 80 humbuckers. It's been professionally setup by our expert in-house luthier, and will play like a dream right out of the case.

Cosmetic condition: Pretty good shape for its age, with expected playwear throughout. Various scratches, dents, nicks, dings, scuffs, chips, and areas of finish wear, with visible weather checking throughout and pickwear on the pickguard. The fingerboard edges show some sweat stains and discoloration, and the seam along the back of the guitar shows some visible seam separation between the neck plate and the back bridge cover. There is also some ghosting from a star sticker that was previously on the top of the guitar, and the control knobs have been replaced with some vintage radio knobs.

Body: Chambered ash body in natural finish with f-hole, 3-ply pearloid pickguard, and string-through six saddle bridge.

Weight: 8 lb, 2 oz

Neck: C-shaped solid maple neck with black side dots and black dot inlays. 1 5/8" nut width. 25 1/2" scale length. Headstock sports a white truss rod cover, black Ibanez logo, and original chrome sealed tuners.

Tuners work great, however, one of the set screws for the high E string tuner is stripped out. This doesn't affect intonation, but is worth noting.

?áFingerboard edges show plenty of playwear, but the fingerboard itself shows only a handful of nicks and dings, and nothing that hinders playability. Frets show visible wear, but still have some life left in them, all notes ring clear up and down the length of the fingerboard.

Electronics: Dual Flying Fingers Super 80 humbuckers (Bridge-8.16K ohms, Neck-8.01K ohms) with 3-way pickup selector switch and silver Stereo knobs, 1x tone, 1x volume.

Case: Unoriginal hard shell case included.
