Description
Cosmetic Condition: Recently acquired from the original owner who kept it in pristine condition. Aside from some minor nicks & dings; mild surface scratches & light finish checking, the guitar is in great shape with no binding "rot". The orange finish is very bold & vibrant. There's some gorgeous flame figuring in the neck along with some really eye catching birdseye figuring in the body! Some of the gold hardware has tarnished, but overall the guitar has a fabulous look to it with a beautiful patina. It has been professionally set up by us with fresh strings & low action. All the electronics are functioning & the guitar sounds marvelous.
Neck: Maple neck with ivoroid binding & red side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl "thumbnail" inlays. Original frets show some light wear, but have plenty of life in them. Bound headstock with The Chet Atkins Nashville Model gold plaque. The original G tuner had broken & was replaced with a period-correct one, but it happens to be chrome & not gold. All the tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width with zero fret; 24 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & plays well.
Body: Double-cutaway, hollow maple body with simulated F-holes. Bigsby vibrato tailpiece with floating adjustable bridge & gold hardware. Gold plexi pickguard is also in great shape with no cracks. Back pad is in perfect condition with no deterioration. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 13 oz.
Pickups: Original Gretsch FilterTron humbuckers. Master volume with individual pickup volume controls. The treble volume knob is missing its "G" Arrow cap. 3-way pickup selector switch, tone switch & standby switch. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Vintage Gretsch hardshell case included, although the handle is broken.
