Description
Condition: This is a great sounding fretless P-bass with an authentic vintage look, sound and feel! This bass has been refinished in a unique looking walnut stain with a gloss finished fingerboard. There are various scratches, nicks, dings, dents and chips throughout the instrument with the heaviest wear along the bottom edge. There is some finish wear on the bottom of the fingerboard and around the neck heel that has been touched-up. Fingerboard is in great overall shape. The neck is mostly straight with very comfortable action and the truss rod functions fine. The openings of some of the neck screw holes are widened slightly but all of the screws hold securely. There has been some routing on the inside of the control cavity. Pickguard, bridge cover, pickup cover and control knobs are unoriginal with some filled in screw holes and the pots both date to the 80s. A spare pair of control knobs are included in the case. Some wiring work has been done and both pickups are wired to the master volume and tone controls.
Body: Solid contoured body refinished in a walnut stain. Top-load bridge with four individual saddles and a chrome bridge cover. 3-ply tortoise pickguard with dual knurled control knobs, thumb rest and a pickup cover.
Neck: Highly comfortable slender maple neck with some very subtle flame figuring on the back. Finished rosewood fingerboard with black side dot markers and a 1 9/16” nut. Fender open-gear tuners, 34” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: Fender split single-coil pickups in the middle and single-coil in the bridge. Master volume and tone controls.
Pickups: 4.95K Ohms.
Weight: 8lbs, 5.0oz.
Playability/Sound: This is a great players grade vintage P-Bass with vintage pickups that sound excellent! The wiring could easily be redone for a classic two-pickup P-Bass configuration or left alone for both pickups on at all times. The slender neck is very comfortable and suitable for virtually any playing style.
Case: Includes original hardshell case.
