Description
What makes this guitar special: A very cool piece in fantastic shape for its age, with a beautiful crisp sound and tons of vintage mojo. This mando plays awesome up and down the length of the fingerboard, and will be comfortable for virtually all players. After some careful research, we believe this piece to be a 1970’s model, based on the name stamps on the neck and in the neck pocket, along with the construction and headstock logo. Pots date to ’82, however because these were not being manufactured by Fender at that time, we believe them to be replacements. Everything else seems to be original. The single-coil pickup has great chime and sounds absolutely terrific plugged in, and this piece even comes with its original Fender hard shell case. It comes expertly setup by one of our in-house luthiers, and will arrive ready to play.
Cosmetic condition: Very good condition for its age, with various small nicks, dings, scratches, and dents, as well as some scuffing on top of the headstock and very light oxidation on the hardware. Frets show some wear, but still have a ton of life in them.
Body: Contoured double cutaway alder body in three-tone sunburst finish with four-ply tortoise pickguard and top-loading bridge with 2 adjustable threaded barrel saddles. Original bridge cover is included.
Weight: 3lb, 9.4oz
Neck: Maple neck with dark rosewood fingerboard, black side dots, and cream colored dot inlays. 1 1/8” nut width, 14” scale length. Headstock features a black cursive Fender logo and Kluson Deluxe tuners, in perfect working condition. Tuning posts are a little lower set than normal, but this doesn't affect functionality. Neck is straight and plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no intonation issues whatsoever.
Electronics: Original single coil pickup with knurled chrome knobs, 1x volume, 1x tone. Pots date to ’82 and all electronics are in full working condition.
Case: Original hard shell case included.
