Description
THIS GUITAR WAS RECENTLY SOLD AND IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
What makes this guitar special: Super cool vintage vibe & a great player's grade guitar. There are some modifications, but the overall look & feel are there along with a killer sound! Very comfortable neck & resonant body with a tight neck/body connection. Professionally set up by us with fresh strings & low action.
Cosmetic Condition: Lots of wear & tear from years of gigging - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches & finish wear. The neck pickup cavity was routed for a humbucker & there's a trace outline in red where a bridge humbucker was going to be added, but never done. The numbers 559 are etched into the body next to the neck pickup.
Neck: Nicely rounded B-shape maple neck with skunk stripe & no maple cap. The neck was refretted with bigger frets which show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Original tuners are in good working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine. Neck date is 3 JAN 69 B.
Body: Solid alder body in original 3-tone sunburst finish on the top, but the back was refinished in black. Original bridge & saddles with original 3-ply white pickguard. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 11.8 oz.
Pickups: Unoriginal single coil neck pickup - looks like it might be a Seymour Duncan Antiquity - 6.00K ohms. Original bridge pickup - 7.06K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with 3-way toggle switch. The volume pot dates to '91, but the tone pot appears to be from '66. The cap is newer. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Later-period Fender hardshell case from the late '70s or '80s.
