Description
What’s special about this guitar: This is an awesome Fender Mustang with a competition finish and stripe. The Competetion finish was only offered on Mustangs from 1969 through mid 1970. This rarity and the fact that it has the matching headstock makes it a very desirable and collectible piece! The tuners, pickups and some wiring is unoriginal however the pickups do give the guitar an excellent sound! The slender neck is also particularly comfortable on this one and makes anything from chords to lead work very easy to play.
Condition: This guitar is in good overall shape for its age. There are plenty of scratches, nicks, dings, dents and chips throughout the guitar along with some buckle rash throughout the back. There are some larger impact dents along the edges and some areas of the finish have worn through to the bare wood from normal play wear. There is one small round sticker ghost on the top but this is very difficult to see. The fingerboard and frets are in good shape with light play wear in the upper registers and some heavier play wear towards the middle and lower registers. The neck is very comfortable with great action up and down the fingerboard and the truss rod functions perfectly. The tuners, pickups and wiring are unoriginal and marks/holes from the original tuners are visible. The pots are however original. Ultimately this guitar plays and sounds fantastic and will be a great addition to any player’s collection!
