Description
What makes this guitar special: All original & very rare model finished in a super cool Lake Placid Blue. The Musiclander, also known as Swinger or Arrow, is basically a short scale Musicmaster with a slightly reshaped body & headstock. As this model was built using parts that were surplus, the individual components may be older than the guitar. The Vintage Guitar Guide indicates the guitar was manufactured between '69 & '72, and the neck plate on this one does date to '69. However, the neck stamp & pots date to '66. Professionally inspected & set up by the experts here at Cream City Music, so it's guaranteed to play great straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Good, honest play wear with an authentic vintage look - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. Overall the guitar has a great vibe with a beautiful patina.
Neck: Super slender A-shape maple neck with Brazilian rosewood fingerboard & mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear & tons of life in them. The Swinger headstock decal shows some disruption along the edges, but the script itself is still clearly visible. Kluson Deluxe tuners are in good working condition. 1 7/16" nut width (really narrow); 22 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is functioning. Neck stamp reads 9 SEP 66 A.
Body: Offset, contoured solid body finished in Lake Placid Blue. Top-loading bridge with three adjustable saddles, which are a bit rusty. 3-ply white pearloid pickguard has aged nicely & is in great shape with no cracks. Guitar weighs 5 lbs 3.3 oz.
Pickup: Neck single coil with black cover - 5.64K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with black knobs. Both pots date to '66 & all electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Unoriginal vintage hardshell case included. Not sure what guitar the case original belonged to, but it's got a great vintage vibe to it as well & the Swinger fits nicely inside.
