Description
What makes this bass special: Made famous by the Jimi Hendrix Experience, these rare basses are becoming increasingly harder to find, especially in all original condition. This one features a birch body in sunburst finish & comes with its original chipboard case. Nice, low action so it plays very well & offers some cool, interesting tones.
Cosmetic Condition: Typical wear & tear for a 50-year old instrument - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. The back of the headstock shows a small area of finish chipping along the center seam of the neck & is by no means a headstock crack. There's some minor cracking along the neck binding with a very tiny piece missing down by the 21st fret. Overall the bass has an ultra cool, true vintage look to it with a wonderful patina.
Neck: Rounded birch neck with nicely aged binding & black side-dots. Beautiful rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Original frets show some light wear, but have plenty of life in them. Nickel tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 31" scale length.
Electronics: Two single coil pickups with 5 slider switches: one each for pickup selection, tone, mute & standby. Master volume control knob.
Case: Original chipboard case included.
