What’s special about this guitar: This is a gorgeous Chet Atkins Tennessean in great overall shape for its age! This guitar offers a super clean, beautiful looking finish that has faded in a way that gives it some unique character, killer sounding HiLoTron pickups and an exceptionally comfortable neck. The finish throughout the top has aged and faded beautifully resulting is a subtle “sunburst” effect that looks lovely. With the exception of the tuners, this guitar is all original!
Condition: This guitar is in excellent overall shape for its age! There are various light surface scratches, a few small chips and dings and some weather checking throughout the finish The binding on this one is in great overall shape. There are just a few cracks throughout the fingerboard binding from shrinkage and a small area of binding rot on the bass side of the binding and the neck heel cap. The fingerboard and frets have only moderate play wear and tons of life left in them. The neck is very comfortable with great actin up and down the fingerboard and the truss rod functions fine. The tuners are unoriginal and the screw holes from the originals are still visible. The original machines are included in the case.
Body: Single-cutaway body with bound top. Maple top, back and sides in burgundy finish. Gretsch by Bigsby tailpiece with a rocking bar bridge. Gretsch Arrow control knobs, dual simulated f-holes and a silver pickguard.
Neck: Very nicely rounded maple neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard. Neo Classic thumbnail inlays, a zero fret and a 1 11/16” nut. Schaller tuners, 24.5” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: Original Gretsch HiLoTron pickups in the neck and bridge. Dual volume controls, master volume control, on/off switch, 3-way pickup selector switch and a 3-way tone switch.
Neck: 2.96K Ohms.
Bridge: 2.29K Ohms.
