Description
What makes this guitar special: 100% original with a cool, true vintage vibe. This guitar has a wonderful look to it with a rich, woody acoustic tone. The wide, rounded neck is very comfortable to play & unlike many Gretsches from the period, all the binding is still intact. Professionally set up by the experts at Cream City Music with fresh strings & low action, so it plays & sounds amazing!
Cosmetic Condition: Great shape for its age with moderate play wear - various minor nicks, dents & dings; surface scratches, mild buckle rash & finish wear. The top of the body has faded into more of a brown color, but the back still retains most of its burgundy finish. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded maple neck with a wider feeling profile. Beautifully aged cream binding with red side-dots. Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl "thumbnail" inlays. Small sized frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Nickel Grover tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 3/4" nut width with zero fret; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod functions properly.
Body: Single-cutaway, hollow maple body with top binding & simulated F-holes. Bigsby tremolo tailpiece with Rocking Bar bridge. Silver plexi pickguard with Chet Atkins signature & Gretsch Tennessean logos. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 1.1 oz.
Pickups: Gretsch HiloTron single coils with silver bezels. Master volume & individual pickup volume controls with "G" Arrow knobs; 3-way pickup & tone selector switches along with standby switch. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included. Also included is a suede strap & Gretsch string pouch.
