Description
What makes this guitar special: Just recently acquired from the original owner who used it for a lot of folk playing in the late '60s & '70s. One of her kids accidentally knocked it over many years ago & the headstock snapped off. The headstock has been repaired with glue & dowels & is very stable with no playability issues. The guitar small body makes it very comfortable to play & produces rich, bright, bell-like tones that really resonant nicely. Professionally gone over & set up by our luthier with fresh strings & low action, so it plays & sounds great!
Cosmetic Condition: Despite the less than appealing headstock repair the guitar is in pretty good shape overall - various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & light finish blemishes. There are a couple of superficial stress cracks on either side of the neck heel, both of which are merely in the surface of the finish & do not penetrate into the wood. Overall the guitar has a lovely appearance with a nice patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Beautiful rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Gibson Deluxe strip tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 7/8" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine. Truss rod cover is missing.
Body: Small body acoustic with solid spruce top & cream binding. Large rosewood bridge with adjustable rosewood saddle & cream end pins. Single-ply black pickguard & multi-ring rosette. Mahogany back & sides. 14 1/2" lower bout width; 11" upper bout width; 4 1/2" depth. There is no pickup & the guitar weighs 4 lbs 9 oz.
Case: Original chipboard case included.
