Description
What makes this guitar special: An absolutely beautiful J-45 in original Cherry Sunburst finish. The classic combination of mahogany & spruce produces a warm, rich tone synonymous with these models, and the super slender neck is very comfortable to play for hours on end. Good looks & great feel for a wonderful, true vintage vibe. Professionally set up by our own luthier, so it plays & sounds fantastic!
Cosmetic Condition: Great shape for its age with good honest play wear - various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some light finish wear. The original bridge had a crack in the bass side. Our luthier replaced it with a period-correct, new old stock Brazilian rosewood bridge that was identical to the original. The current end pins are newer, but the originals are included with the guitar. No cracks in the body or neck. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Slender mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Beautiful, dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Original frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Original, open-back tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 9/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in good working condition.
Body: Round shoulder dreadnought with bound top & back. Solid spruce top in Cherry Sunburst finish. Brazilian rosewood bridge with adjustable rosewood saddle. Original tortoise plexi pickguard & multi-ring rosette. Mahogany back & sides with some pretty figuring in the back. There is no pickup. Guitar weighs 4 lbs 6.6 oz.
Case: Unoriginal hardshell case included.
