What’s special about this bass: This is a phenomenal sounding bass with a huge tone and ridiculously comfortable playability. The solid mahogany body and neck humbucker create a huge sound with tons of warmth and bottom end. The slender neck has a great shape and its profile makes it super comfortable. On top of all of this, the bass is in great shape for its age. It even has the string mute system intact and in great working condition!
Condition: Great shape & very clean for its age! There are some scratches, nicks, dings and dents throughout with some light buckle rash on the back. There was a small finish crack along the center seam on back that was touched-up by hand and some touch-up work was done along the neck heel. There are some very small stress cracks in the finish along the neck heel that are likely related to the touch-up work. Neck heel and neck angle are perfectly solid and in great playing shape. Frets show some light wear, but have plenty of life in them. The neck is super comfortable with great action up and down the fingerboard and the truss rod functions perfectly. There is one small route in the body around the input jack (see photos). All electronics and parts are in perfect working condition.
Body: Solid contoured asymmetrical double-cutaway mahogany body in cherry finish. Two-point tailpiece with bar bridge saddle and string mute mechanism. String cover, dual plastic control knobs with silver inserts. Ebony finger rest and a 3-ply white pickguard. The pickguard has shrunk slightly causing it to bend in some areas but this does not affect playability.
Neck: Very nicely rounded mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard. Pearloid dot inlays and a 1.5” nut width. Sealed nickel tuners, 30” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: Original humbucker in the neck with master volume and tone controls.
