Description
A vintage 1965 Silvertone 1484 Twin Twelve 2x12 piggyback tube amp in player-grade condition. Poplularized by Jack White, these Silvetone amps feature a thick, compressed overdrive character that is perfect for punk and garage rock. This one has had some tweaks to make it a little more usable. A grounded AC cord was installed for safety/noise issues, and, in place of the orignal umbilical cord, 1/4" speaker jacks were added to both the head and the cabinet. It should be noted that, as with most of these old Silvetones, the reverb circuit is "working," but the spring assembly causes so much feedback that the reverb is largely unusable. Aside from that, the amp has been completely serviced with new power supply filter caps. It is fully functional and sounds fantastic.
