Description
What makes this guitar special: This sweet little guy started its life as a single pickup Model 425, then the previous owner caught the Beatle bug & decided to "Harrisonize" his guitar into a 450 with an additional pickup & toggle switch. The project was almost complete - all he needed to do was refinish the guitar in Jetglo - but he didn't quite make it. Regardless, the guitar has an ultra cool, true vintage vibe with nice tone & feel. Professionally set up by our luthier with fresh strings & low action, so she's ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Good, honest play wear, just the way we like 'em - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, buckle rash & some finish wear. Overall the guitar has a wonderful look to it with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Slender profile maple neck with thick Brazilian rosewood fingerboard & cream dot inlays. The 9th fret dot appears to be a replacement. Original small frets show some wear, but still have plenty of life in them. The original tuners were replaced with Schallers quite some time ago & the guitar is now fitted with newer Ric Deluxe repros which have a more period-correct vintage look. 1 9/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length.
Body: 'Cresting Wave' body style - neck thru design with solid maple wings. Top-loading bridge plate with compensated saddle. Single-ply white plexi pickguard. The body was of course routed for the additional pickup. Guitar weighs 6 lbs 12.6 oz.
Pickups: Rickenbacker 'toaster top' single coils. Master volume & tone controls with dual toggles - one is for pickup selection & the other is for phase. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Unoriginal hardshell case included.
