Description
A vintage Blackface 1965 Fender Showman Amp head in nice cosmetic condition. This is the 8-ohm single Showman version--originally paired with a 1x12 or 1x15 cabinet. These single Showman Amps are far less common than the 4-ohm Dual Showman heads. The amp is in nice shape for a 50-year old amp. It has typical tolex wear plus a couple cigarette burns. It is missing the back panel and mounting hardware to attach the head to the original Fender cabinet.
Showman amps are revered for their big, sparkly clean tone. As you turn the amp up the cleans turn smoothly into that classic Blackface grind. With lots of neutral clean headroom, the amp makes a great platform for pedals as well. This amp is a great player, and you will be hard-pressed to find a modern amp of similar quality without spending thousands more. To top it off this Showman ships with a well-matched set of vintage RCA Blackplate 6L6GC power tubes--probably worth a couple hundred on their own. This vintage amplifier has been serviced and tested. It is fully functional and sounds fantastic.
