Description
What makes this guitar special: A fiery sounding '65 Jaguar in original Candy Apple Red with matching headstock. The guitar exudes cool with its classic good looks & magnetic charm. Mostly original with only a few minor mods, the guitar has been professionally inspected & set up by Cream City Music, so she's ready to play straight out of the case!
Cosmetic Condition: Good, honest play wear & in pretty good shape actually for a 50 plus year old guitar - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. There are three circular marks just below the tailpiece where the finish was touched up. Not exactly sure what's going on there, but it appears a different type of tailpiece may have been attempted at one time. The disruption isn't too bad actually & the color matches rather well. Overall the guitar has a wonderful, true vintage look with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Slender profile maple neck with a beautifully figured Brazilian rosewood fingerboard & pearloid dot inlays. The guitar was refretted with medium jumbo frets & there is no wear. Original Candy Apple Red finish & decals on the headstock. Original Kluson Deluxe nickel tuners are in perfect working condition. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine. Neck is stamped 1 MAR 65 B.
Body: Contoured, solid alder body in original Candy Apple Red finish (aside from the minor touch up below the tailpiece). Fender Pat # tremolo tailpiece with original arm. Original bridge & adjustable saddles, but the bridge cover is missing. Original 3-ply mint pickguard is in great shape with no cracks. Guitar weighs 8 lbs 13.4 oz.
Pickups: Original Fender Jaguar single coils. All electronics are in good working condition & original pots date to '65.
Case: Unoriginal, yet vintage, hardshell case included.
