Description

What makes this guitar special: A player’s grade special, soaked with mojo and dripping with vintage aesthetic. This one has been well-loved, and for good reason-it plays like an absolute dream. The semi-chunky neck feel in tandem with the smooth Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard makes for effortless maneuverability, and the thin body keeps it lightweight and more than suitable for extended nights of playing. A previous owner dropped a humbucker in the neck, giving it a warm and chunky sound in the neck position that balances nicely against the crisp and clear midrange from the min-humbucker in the bridge. Marvelous sustain and ample tonal versatility-this one has the whole package!

Cosmetic condition: Obviously someone’s go-to instrument, with various scratches, dents, nicks, dings, chips, scuffs, and areas of finish wear throughout. Visible weather checking throughout most of the instrument, and expected browning of the finish on the top. One very small repaired crack on the corner of the neck heel, very well done and hardly noticeable. Neck has been refretted, and frets have a ton of life left in them. The body has been routed for a humbucker in the neck position, and the bridge and pickguard are unoriginal. The tremolo assembly has broken off and been filed down. Overall, this one has a fantastic player’s look to it, with a beautiful vintage patina.

Body: One-piece solid mahogany body with 3-ply white pickguard and black pickup bezels. Replacement Tune-O-Matic bridge and mounted wraparound tailpiece.

Weight: 6 lb, 12 oz

Neck: Semi-chunky mahogany neck with white side dots and pearl dot inlays. Black headstock overlay with gold Epiphone logo and original Klusons in perfect working condition. Brazilian rosewood fingerboard is in marvelous shape, and frets show only light wear with tons of life left in them. 1 9/16” nut width, 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight and plays beautifully up and down the length of the fingerboard.

Electronics: Replacement DiMarzio humbucker in the neck position (8.79k ohms) and original mini-humbucker in the bridge position (7.34k ohms). 3-way pickup selector switch and black tophat knobs, 2x volume, 2x tone. Pots date to ’63 and all electronics are fully functional.

Case: Unoriginal, heavily stickered hard shell case included.
