Description
What makes this guitar special: A fabulous player's grade, true vintage Jazzmaster with an ultra cool vibe. Recently acquired from the family of the original owner, the body & neck were refinished quite some time ago, but the rest is all original. The guitar has been professionally gone over & set up by our luthier, so she's ready to play straight out of the case!
Cosmetic Condition: Various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & mild finish wear. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a beautiful patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded, semi-chunky maple neck with super dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard & clay dot inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. The headstock decals were removed when the guitar was refinished. Kluson Deluxe tuners are in good working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss works fine. Neck stamp reads 4 SEP 62 B.
Body: Contoured, solid alder body refinished in red. Tremolo tailpiece with original trem arm. Adjustable bridge with original cover included. 4-ply tortoise pickguard is in great shape with some mild warping, but no cracks or breaks. Guitar weighs 8 lbs 2 oz.
Pickups: Original Jazzmaster single coils with cream covers. Bridge - 7.94K ohms; Neck - 8.68K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with skirted knobs; 3-way toggle switch. All electronics are in good working condition & pots date to '62.
Case: Original hardshell case included. The case is a bit rough with some repair work done on one side, but still serves its purpose well.
