Description
What makes this guitar special: Ultra rare Roy Smeck electric archtop made sometime around the mid '60s & finished in a cool Midnight Blue. Aside from the control knobs, the guitar is all original & was professionally set up by our luthier, so it plays great!
Cosmetic Condition: Typical wear & tear for a 50ish year old guitar - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches & heavy buckle rash. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with an authentic, vintage vibe.
Neck: Semi-chunky maple neck with nicely aged cream binding. Stained maple fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Harmony Roy Smeck stenciled headstock logo. Open-back strip tuners can be a bit stiff at times when tuning, but do function & are original to the guitar. 1 11/16" nut width; 25" scale length. Neck is straight & plays great up & down the fretboard.
Body: Double-bound, hollow body with dual F-holes. Trapeze tailpiece with floating rosewood bridge. Large, single-ply cream pickguard is in great shape with no cracks. Guitar weighs 4 lbs 14.9 oz.
Pickup: Single coil 'bar' pickup with large white bezel - 8.47K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with unoriginal knobs. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Unoriginal vintage hardshell case included. The case is a bit rough looking on the outside, but is structurally sound & serves its purpose well.
