Description
What’s special about this pedal steel: This is a rare model Gibson pedal steel with a unique design and it’s the only we’ve had in our shop. Some of the features of this steel include a single humbucker pickup, fairly simple design, and the instrument is lightweight in comparison to other pedal steel guitars. The pull system is simple yet effective and allows anyone to easily set up the intonation. The pickup and electronics are all unoriginal but work and sound fantastic. This instrument could easily be played by a seasoned professional or a beginner.
Condition: Very good overall shape for its age. Cosmetically there are various scratches, nicks, dings, dents, chips and weather checking throughout the console. Some of the metal parts have some blemishing or light corrosion, but all are functioning perfectly. The pickup and electronics were replaced with a reissue PAF humbucker, two 500K pots and a 473K 400V capacitor. These components all sound great together! Some of the metal pull rods are bent but they are all still functioning fine. Two of the rubber feet for the legs are missing.
Body: Solid rectangular Korina console in a great natural finish. Tuners, bridge and pull system are all set into the console. Original plastic bridge cover is still intact! Nickel control panel with dual speed control knobs on the far side of the console.
Neck: black plastic fingerboard with gold printed frets and dot fret markers. 2 3/16” metal roller nut, metal tuners and a 22 ¼” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: Reissue Gibson PAF humbucker with master volume and tone controls.
Humbucker: 7.70K Ohms.
Pedal/Pull Controls: Four pedals (pull rods) connected to a spring loaded system with four bars for each pedal and six screws connected to each bar to determine the pitch of each string. With this configuration, the pedals can be designated to change the pitch on any of the six strings.
Case: Includes the original hardshell case. The outer case covering has some tears and scratches. There are also some scratches on the inside of the case but overall it functions fine.
