Description
What makes this guitar special: A beautiful sounding hollow body with a gorgeous acoustic tone & sweet resonance. The chunky neck feels great & is very comfortable to play, even hours on end. The classic sunburst finish looks fabulous & the back of the body shows off some really pretty grain patterns in the maple. Overall, a wonderful guitar that's been professionally set up & ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Pretty good shape actually for a 60 year old guitar with a bit of road rash - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & finish wear. There's a 2 pressed into the back of the headstock, indicating the guitar was a factory second, but there are no issues with playability or its structural integrity. Overall the guitar looks great with a beautiful patina.
Neck: Chunky mahogany neck with cream side-dots. An intensely figured Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Original frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Original Kluson Deluxe strip tuners with newer white buttons. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Double-bound, hollow maple body with dual F-holes. Unoriginal chrome trapeze tailpiece with original compensated rosewood bridge. Tortoise plexi pickguard is in great shape with no cracks. Guitar weighs 5 lbs 12 oz.
Pickup: Original "dog ear" P-90 single coil - 7.96K Ohms. Master volume & tone controls with gold "top hat" knobs. The jackplate is not original, but is vintage. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Hardshell case included. The case is unoriginal, but very nice & protects the guitar well.
