Description

What makes this guitar special: A nicely voiced vintage archtop, with a beefy neck feel and a pleasing sound. A comfortable lap guitar, at an affordable price, with some cool appointments! Professionally inspected and setup by the experts at Cream City Music!

Cosmetic condition: Definitely played, but showing lighter wear than expected for its age. There are various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, chips, and scuffs present, with areas of finish wear & finish checking present. The tuners have been changed. A pickup was mounted by a previous owner, which has since been removed. As a result, there is a hole in the top as well as one on the treble side. The original pickguard is missing, and the underside of the headstock shows some “hanger rash”. The bridge has been lowered all the way and there is no adjustable truss rod-as a result, the action sits a touch high at the 12th fret (3/32” on the bass side, 5/64” on the treble side).

Body: Double bound maple body and spruce top in dark sunburst finish with dual f-holes. Compensated rosewood bridge with stairstep rosewood base and Gretsch trapeze tailpiece.

Weight: 5 lb, 1.3 oz

Neck: Chunky maple neck with aged white side dots and white dot inlays. 1 3/4" nut width, 24.6” scale length. Rosewood fingerboard is in good shape, and while frets show wear, they still have some life in them. Bound headstock with white Gretsch logo, New Yorker logo, and zig zag. Unoriginal chrome sealed tuners work great. Neck is straight and plays nicely up and down the length of the fingerboard.

Case: Unoriginal Alvarez hard shell case included.
