What’s special about this steel guitar: This is a beautiful sounding vintage Fender Dual 8 Professional Steel guitar. The instrument underwent a few modifications in the past but it has been returned as close to original condition as possible. It has an authentic vintage look and the sound is excellent. The pickups were professionally rewound so they are highly reliable and sound fantastic!
Condition: This instrument has a beautiful, authentic vintage look with plenty of scratches, nicks, dings, dents, chips and weather checking. There are two holes through one side of the headstock from a previous modification (see photos). The legs are missing but could be found through most pedal steel manufacturers. The pickups have been professionally rewound with near identical output and the control knobs are unoriginal. One original control knob is included in the case. As can be seen in the photos there are sticker ghosts on the front panel from a decal of the previous owner’s name. One tuning machine shaft is bent slightly and one machine had to be reinforced where it is welded on (see photos). all electronics and parts are in perfect working condition.
Body: Solid dual neck console in blonde finish. Dual angled string-through pickups, dual knurled control knobs with selector switch and a Fender logo on the top near the controls and on the front panel. Just above the front panel in front of the farther neck are handwritten numbers in the finish. These are not coming off but are not highly noticeable.
Necks: Dual 8-string necks with a metal fingerboard and black printed frets and a 2 7/8” metal nut. Nickel tuners and a 22.5” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: Dual angled single-coil string-though pickups with master volume and tone controls and a 3-way selector switch.
Neck 1 (closest to player): 10.53K Ohms.
Neck 2 (furthest from player): 10.53K Ohms.
Weight: 21lbs, 1.5oz.
Case: Includes a vintage tweed Fender case. The case is unoriginal to this instrument but works. Some parts of the case are cracked and there are plenty of tears in the tweed and leather but it works.
