Description
What makes this guitar special: An excellent player's grade round shoulder dreadnought, professionally refinished by Gibson back in the late '60s. Additional changed features include a larger pickguard & oversized rosewood bridge. Despite these subtle mods, the guitar sounds great & responds remarkably well to even the lightest touch. It has a rich, powerful voice, yet still capable of delivering soft, warm tones. Professionally set up by our own luthier with fresh strings & low action.
Cosmetic Condition: Used, but no abused, with typical play wear - various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some mild finish wear. The guitar was completely refinished about 50 years ago, so it has a really good, honest vintage vibe to it with a lovely patina.
Neck: Medium-profile mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Beautiful, dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl double parallelogram inlays. Original frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Kluson Deluxe tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & plays well up & down the fretboard.
Body: Round shoulder dreadnought with solid spruce top in sunburst finish & 7-ply binding. Rosewood bridge with pearloid dot inlays & cream end pins. Large tortoise plexi pickguard & multi-ring rosette. Mahogany sides & back with 5-ply binding. There is no pickup & the guitar weighs 4 lbs 10.5 oz.
Case: Later period Gibson hardshell case with replaced handle.
