Description
What makes this guitar special: A superb player's grade ES-5 with an ultra cool, true vintage vibe. This one has a great look with good, honest play wear & a wonderful, natural acoustic resonance to it. The trio of P-90's sound marvelous & deliver warm, rich tones for hours of playing enjoyment. Professionally inspected & set up by the experts at Cream City Music, so it's ready for action straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: A true player with lots of road rash - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. Some type of repair was made on the bottom side of the body from about the input jack to the end pin & was refinished along that area. Under black light you can see a feint outline of a patch in the wood. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a beautiful patina.
Neck: Super comfortable, medium-profile, flame maple neck with nicely aged 5-ply cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays. Frets show some wear, but are still playable. Bound headstock with mother of pearl Gibson & Holly inlay. Kluson "waffle back" tuners are in good working condition. The gold has tarnished quite a bit & the G tuner is slightly bent, but they all function properly. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is functioning.
Body: Single cutaway, hollow maple body with 3-ply binding & bound F-holes. There's some really pretty flame figuring throughout the body which is finished in a gorgeous tobacco sunburst. Unoriginal Bigsby tremolo tailpiece with compensated rosewood bridge. Pickguard is missing. 17" lower bout width with about a 3 1/2" depth. Guitar weighs 6 lbs 14.8 oz.
Electronics: Original P-90 single coils with black "dog ear" covers. Individual volume controls for each pickup plus a master tone control. All four knobs are unoriginal as are the pots. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Vintage Ess & Ess faux alligator hardshell case included.
