Description

What makes this guitar special:  An amazing little LG-3 with a huge sound!  High quality tone woods produce a magnificent voice - rich & robust with a warm resonance & well-defined balance between the low & high ends.  Professionally inspected by the vintage experts at Cream City Music & set up by our tech with fresh strings & low action, so it plays & sounds terrific!

Cosmetic Condition:  Great shape for finally reaching retirement age with good, honest play wear  - various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some light buckle rash on the back of the body.  There is a 2 pressed into the back of the headstock indicating the guitar was a factory second.  Exactly why is near impossible to determine now, but perhaps it was due to the unusual figuring in the fretboard.  There are, however, no issues with the guitar structurally & it's in perfect playing condition.  Just below the bridge on the treble side is some writing scratched into the top.  It's illegible, but could be someone's name or a phrase of some sort.  Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a gorgeous patina & marvelous vintage vibe.

Neck:  Chunky, one-piece mahogany neck with cream side-dots & mother of pearl dot inlays.  Beautifully figured Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with lots of character & variegation in the wood.  Original frets show some light wear, but have plenty of life in them.  Original Kluson Deluxe strip tuners are in perfect working condition.  The original buttons crumbled & were replaced with newer cream ones.  1 11/16" nut width; 25" scale length.  Neck is straight & plays great up & down the fretboard.

Body:  Small body acoustic with solid spruce top & 3-ply binding.  Rosewood bridge with mother of pearl dot inlays & cream end pins.  Original tortoise pickguard & 3-ply rosette.  Solid mahogany back & sides with cream binding.  14 1/2" lower bout width; 11 1/4" upper bout width; 4 1/2" depth.  Guitar weighs 3 1/2 lbs.  There is no pickup.

Case:  Vintage Gretsch hardshell case included.  The case is of course not original, but the guitar fits in it perfectly & is a perfect marriage.
