What’s special about this lap steel: This is a great Gibson model lap steel in beautiful shape for its age! This particular lap steel features stunning birdseye and flame figuring on the top and back and a phenomenal sounding Charlie Christian pickup! Everything is original and it comes with the original hardshell tweed case in excellent condition!
Condition: Great shape for its age! There are various surface scratches, nicks, dings, dents and some tiny chips which all give it an authentic vintage look. The binding has developed a lovely patina that looks beautiful against the ages sunburst finish. There is also some beautiful birdseye and flame figuring in the top and back. Fingerboard is in great shape with hardly any signs of play wear. All electronics and parts are original and in perfect working condition.
Body: Double-bound guitar shaped body with maple top and back and mahogany sides in sunburst finish. The top and back have some gorgeous birdseye and flame figuring. Nickel bridge with a nickel cover. Original Bakelite control knobs with different colored arrows.
Neck: Rounded thick maple neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard. Pearloid dot inlays and a 2 1/6” metal nut. Open-gear nickel tuners, 22.5” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: Original Charlie Christian single-coil pickup with master volume and tone controls.
Pickup: 10.25K Ohms.
Weight: 5lbs, 15.5oz.
Case: Includes the original hardshell case. Some of the leather on the handle is beginning to wear away, otherwise the case and interior are in great shape!
