Description
What makes this guitar special: Manufactured under the Sears & Roebuck umbrella until 1941, these Supertone Archtops are hard to find! This worn beauty has a warm and robust tone with plenty of projection, and plays wonderfully for an 85 year old guitar. It has its fair share of scars, and shows signs of wear consistent with its age, but is just as much a player now as ever before. Plus, it comes with a professional setup from Cream City Music, so all you’ll have to do is tune it!
Cosmetic condition: Very good condition for its age! There are various nicks, chips, scratches, dents, surface cracks and dings throughout the body and neck of the guitar, but nothing that affects playability. Frets appear to be original, and as such show wear consistent with age. They appear to have been leveled, and have a good amount of life left in them. It’s been played and used, but definitely not abused. The guitar shows no signs of major repair, and is in great playing condition!
Body: Double bound birch laminate body with carved spruce top and dual f-holes in sunburst finish. Nickel trapeze tailpiece and compensated ebony bridge.
Weight: 4lb, 1oz
Neck: Chunky V neck with ornate white inlays. Rosewood fingerboard is in great shape, and frets have a good deal of life left in them. 1 3/4" nut width, 24 1/4" scale length. Neck is straight and plays nicely up and down the fretboard. Kluson Deluxe tuners are in full working order.
Playability/Tone: This guitar has a rich and warm sound, that projects beautifully. The chunky V neck makes playing extraordinarily comfortable, and will have you playing for hours at a time.
