Description
A vintage pre-war National Dobro Model B tube combo amplifier in player-grade condition. Manufactured in the mid to late 1930s, this amp was one of the most powerful instrument amps of its era. This particular example has seen better days cosmetically, but it is a great player. A tone control has been added to the front panel, and an extension speaker jack was added to the rear grill. Using this jack mutes the internal speaker, allowing you to use the amp with a cabinet of your choice. This amp has a similar tone to other offerings from the era--a full clean tone that turns into a thick, tweed-ish overdrive as you turn up the volume. The Mic channel offers a bit more gain than the Instrument side. Despite being one of the first instrument amplifiers ever produced, this little combo has plenty of power and produces guitar tones that are on par with those of amps manufactured many decades later. This amp has been cleaned and tested. It is fully functional and sounds great.
