What’s special about this banjo: This is a beautiful sounding Gibson TB-1 Trapdoor banjo in great overall shape for its age! This piece features a 19” scale length, trapdoor resonator, a 59-hole round tone ring and has the original pickguard and tailpiece cover! Serial number is 11092A-5.
Condition: This banjo is in great shape for its age! There are various surface scratches, some small nicks, dings, dents, a few tiny chips and some weather checking throughout the instrument. The heaviest of the play wear is really quite minor and located on the back of the resonator. Fingerboard and frets are in fantastic shape with moderate play wear and plenty of life left in them. The neck is nice and straight with very comfortable action. All parts are in perfect working condition. One of the screws on a tuning gear has been changed, the tuner works perfectly however.
Body: 10.5” diameter head with 22 lugs on a tension hoop. Lugs are mounted to a 1-piece tube flange. Dark-stained maple pot with dual metal coordinator rods and a 59-hole round tone ring. Bound maple trap door resonator with a bound sound hole. Original gold The Gibson logo is still intact on the inside of the pot.
Neck: Very nicely rounded maple neck with an Ebony fingerboard. Pearloid dot inlays and a 1 1/8” nut. 2-on-a-strip open-gear nickel tuners with ivoroid buttons, 19” scale length.

Case: Includes a vintage chipboard case.
