Description

Most people will know the Yamaha SG for being a double cut solid body that most notably used by Carlos Santana, but this is the beginning of the Yamaha SG lineage. Designed as a competitor to the Les Paul Recording model of the late 1960s, this German-carved beast is full of interesting features and tonal options.

Cosmetic condition: It's got various nicks & dings along with various surface scratches but is in pretty good condition for a guitar over 50 years old.

Neck: C shaped mahogany neck with binding, black side dots. Rosewood fingerboard with pearloid chevron inlays. Frets show very little wear but are fretless wonder style frets. Schaller tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 3/4" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.

Body: Bound mahogany body with bound, German carved top. Terminator tailpiece. 4-ply tortoise pickguard. Guitar weighs 9 lbs 10.2 oz.

Electronics: Dual humbuckers with brown covers & bezels. Bridge pickup is actually 2 separate pickups. Volume, bass, treble and tone boost controls in conjunction with 5-way tone selector knob and on /off switch; 3-way pickup selector. All electronics are in good working condition.

Hard case included.
