Description
What makes this guitar special: This is a nice Yamaha 5-string bass with good-sounding pickups and intuitive controls. The pickups themselves sound pretty great with solid mid-range character while the EQ controls are flat, but if you add in a bit of bass you’ve got some sizeable low end thump while the treble control easily dials in top end clarity. The neck has a pretty flat profile so players who have more technical styles have lots of real estate to post up on. The bridge is easily accessible and provides great adjustability. Plus, it comes in a classic Sunburst finish and with a semi-hardshell case.
Condition: This bass is in very good condition overall. It does show various nicks, dings, dents, chips, and scratches, but is still in pretty great shape for a used instrument. The nut has been replaced and there is a bit of glue buildup on the bass side. The frets show only light to mild wear and still have a considerable amount of playing time left in them. The neck is comfortable and the truss rod is functioning.
Body: Double cutaway contoured alder body in Sunburst finish. Fixed die-cast bridge with individually adjustable saddles. Black knurled dome control knobs.
Neck: Slim to medium depth D shape maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. Hipshot open-gear tuning machines with clover keys. 1 11/16” nut width. 34” scale.
Electronics: Active humbucking pickups in the neck and bridge. 1 x volume, 1 x pan, 1 x bass, 1 x treble cut/boost.
Weight: 9 lbs 1.8 oz
Playability/Sound: Even with a wider nut to compensate for the 5th string, the neck on this bass is easy to move around and the profile provides a good amount of real estate to post up on.
Case: Includes semi-hardshell case.
