Description
What makes this guitar special: This is an awesome smaller bodied acoustic guitar that has certainly captured the attention of just about everyone that has picked it up in our shop. Inspired by the mail-order catalogue guitars available during the depression, the unassuming WL-14 packs an incredible wallop sonically. With a tight focus and balance across the frequency range, this guitar can easily handle everything from delicate finger picking to hard strumming. This is the definition of a workhorse guitar. Plus, it includes the original hard shell case and a professional setup from our in-house technician, so all you have to do is take it out and tune it up.
Condition: The guitar is in excellent condition overall. It does possess some light surface scratches from being played, but is exceptionally clean for a used instrument. The frets are in great shape with tons of life left in them. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions perfectly.
Body: 14 frets to the body folk sized guitar with a solid spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides in Vintage Sunburst finish. Spruce X bracing. Single ply Ivoroid binding top and sound hole. Tigerstripe celluloid pickguard. Ebony bridge with compensated bone saddle and ebony bridge pins.
Neck: Vintage style Prominent V Shape mahogany neck. 19 fret rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays and white side dots. Aged nickel open geared tuning machines with black oval buttons. Stenciled Waterloo headstock logo. 1 ¾” nut width. 24 7/8” scale length.
Weight: 3 lbs. 4.7 oz.
Playability/Sound: The prominent V mahogany neck is surprisingly easy to play, and is perfectly sculpted for thumb wrapping. The smaller body fits very comfortably in your lap and delivers a large amount of volume and projection for an instrument of its size. The X braced spruce top and mahogany back and sides produce a tightly focused midrange with a nice balance in the bass and high end frequencies.
Case: Includes original hard shell case.
