Description
What makes this guitar special? This is a versatile bass with a construction that emphasizes both the tonal qualities and aesthetic qualities of its tone woods. The most striking aspect of this bass is its combination of 3-piece walnut/wenge/alder wings on a flame maple center. The natural figuring of the walnut, alder, and flame maple is fantastic, each in their own right, and the wenge middle perfectly carries its dark character into the matching fingerboard. The satin-finish asymmetrical neck is incredibly easy to play and is comfortable from the nut to the upper reaches of the cutaway. The pickups inherently have a rich midrange, but with the extensive controls and active electronics, provide a wide range of tonal options from thick and warm to up-front and punchy, making this an incredibly versatile instrument.
Condition: This bass is in very good condition overall. It does possess various nicks, dings, dents, chips, small gouges, scratches, and normal playwear, but still looks great overall and plays the same. One of the back plate screw holes is stripped and one of the control knobs is missing the indicator insert. The frets show only light wear and still have a ton of playing time left in them. The neck is straight and the truss rods are functioning.

Weight: 8 lbs 11.7 oz
Playability/Sound: Between the asymmetrical profile and satin finish on the neck, it moves beautifully from the nut all the way up through the cutaway and is incredibly comfortable to boot. The Bartolini pickups have a nice up-front quality that is inherently thick with punch and mid-range. With the active electronics and extensive controls, including a full 3-band EQ, pickup blend and mid-range cut/boost, there is no limit to the tonal shaping you can get with this bass.
