Description
The Bullet Bass is one of Fender's more 'niche' basses, but if you're 'in the know,' you'll understand just how retro-cool this axe is. This Bullet bass was built in Japan between '83 and '84 and is one of the 34" long-scale models - and it plays like a dream. Featuring a mustang-style split pickup, a Tele bass headstock, and a gloss black finish, this bass offers thumpin' tones and old-school vintage charm.
Cosmetic Condition: This Bullet is in excellent condition for being nearly 40 years old. The finish sports some minor playwear, but there are no significant dings, dents, or scratches to be found. The hardware looks great, the neck is in good shape, and the headstock logo is fully intact.
Neck: Bolt-on maple neck with a 20 fret maple fingerboard and black dot inlays. The neck measures 1.625" at the nut, and it has a nice, flat profile. The tuners operate normally, the neck is straight, and the truss rod is fully functional.
Body: This Bullet most likely has an alder body, but we can't be 100% sure. Either way, it's in great shape, and features a stock 4-saddle bridge and strap buttons. Weighs 8 lbs. 11.7 oz.
Electronics: Powering this bass is a mustang-style split pickup that delivers a warm, classic thump, similar to a Precision bass but with a slightly different sonic flavor. Complete with a master volume and master tone control, getting a great tone out of this bass is dead-simple. Just plug it into a warm tube amp, bump the lows, and get ready to transcend to vintage tone heaven.
