Description
Best known for its original amp-in-case design, which featured a 5 or 6-watt tube amplifier built directly into the case, the Silvertone 1449 was built to rock straight out of the box, or the case as it were, and the reissue is no different. It is equipped with two Silvertone Lipstick Single-Coil pickups that boast a response quite similar to the original surplus lipstick tube pickups, while two stacked volume and tone controls help dial in just the right sound. Appointed with the traditional single-ply white pickguard, chrome trapezoid bridge, uniquely-shaped headstock, and 6-on-a-side tuners help complete the look of the original design with a few modern updates for the sake of playability.
Condition:
This 1449 is in excellent overall condition. It has seen barely any play wear and still has plenty of life left in the frets.
