What makes this guitar special: This is a unique and uncommon instrument that we don’t see in our shop that often. With 6 guitar strings, 13 sympathetic drone strings, and a Gotoh buzz bridge, the exotic tone of the traditional Indian instrument is made much more accessible to players because of its familiar neck and scale length. The lipstick pickups pair wonderfully with the unique sound of this electric sitar, with a round low end, punchy midrange, and clear highs. Plus, it features a professional setup from our in house tech, so you know it will play great. Overall this sitar is perfect for recreating those classic psychedelic songs from the ‘60s, or adding an Eastern flair to your playing.
Condition: This sitar is in excellent condition overall. Outside of a few small scratches on the headstock and a small amount of silver paint flaking on the pickguard, the sitar is incredibly clean for a used instrument. A replacement tuning machine was installed, as well as a pair of string trees to improve the overall playability of the instrument, but the instrument is otherwise unchanged. The frets are in excellent shape and have tons of life left. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions perfectly.
Body: Unique cutaway composite hollow body in red crackle finish. Silver-edged clear plastic pickguard and bridge covers. Black Gotoh Sitar buzz bridge and chrome stop tailpiece. 13 sympathetic drone strings with rosewood bridges and chrome stop tailpiece.
Neck: Slim C shaped bolt on maple neck (.77”, at the 1st fret, .96” at the 12th fret). 21 fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlays and white side dots. Chrome 6-in-a-line sealed gear tuning machines Chrome circular string trees. 1 11/16” nut width. 24 ¾” scale length.
Electronics: 3 Chrome lipstick pickups with individual volume and tone controls for each pickup.

Playability/Sound: The maple neck is very comfortable to hold and the satin finish makes maneuvering around the fingerboard incredibly quick and easy. The lipstick pickups are a perfect complement to the unique buzzing sound this guitar produces, with a rounded low end, punchy midrange and clear highs. The controls are intuitive and allow for the tone to be sculpted to an amazing extent.
