Description
Between 1962 & 1992 RL (Bob) Givens handcrafted about 800 mandolins & another 700 in a production shop. This gorgeous A4 was made towards the end of the run & offers a rich, powerful voice with a comfortable feel. Professionally inspected & set up ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Great shape for being 30 years old with only minor play wear - a few tiny nicks & dings; light surface scratches. Really clean & a stunning player!
Neck: Maple neck with cream side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show a bit of wear, but still have plenty of life in them. Open-gear strip tuners with pearloid buttons. 1 1/8" nut width; 14" scale length.
Body: Double-bound A-Style body with dual F-holes. Solid spruce top with brushed nickel tailpiece & compensated ebony bridge. Solid maple back & sides with some light flame figuring. There are no electronics & the mandolin weighs 2 lbs 3.5 oz.
Case: Hardshell case included along with a detachable arm rest.
