Description
Based on one of the most cherished acoustic guitars ever made, the Martin D-28 Authentic 1937 embodies the look, feel, and tradition of its revered predecessor. Each element of this guitar pays homage to the original build, starting with an excellently straight-grained solid Adirondack spruce top that has gone through Martin’s Vintage Tone System, a process that specifically ages the tone wood’s sound and aesthetic to achieve era-accurate characteristics. Gorgeously figured pieces of Madagascar rosewood grace the back and sides of this dreadnought (the only real variant from the original design which used Brazilian) and along with the top and neck, feature a Vintage Gloss finish that resides perfectly between a gloss and satin appearance. An Authentic 1937 Barrel & Heel shaped solid mahogany neck, hide glue construction, bone nut and saddle, and traditional Style 28 rosette round out the marvelous tradition this masterpiece inspired oh so many years ago.
